THE NOVELS OF ROBERT GRAHAM
The Celebrity of Anders Hecht
My first published novel. The first chapters are a little bit dense, I agree, but I was ambitious. There was so much I wanted to say about relationships. So much I wanted to say about how we ask others to fulfil our dreams, whether they be lovers, political leaders or religious leaders. Then we destroy them when they can`t meet the unreasonable demands we`ve made of them.
It`s a murder story and the first introduction of `the man with no passions`, the courteous, aloof Spanish detective, Miguel Rojas who will appear in further books.
Masks of Venice
By far the best seller I`ve written. . Based on an idea I had had for a novel since childhood but could not find the right format. It enabled me to play with a lot of ideas that interest me . Have we lived before? What effect would it have on our lives if we did so? We are so accustomed to deceiving ourselves and others about who we really are. How could we escape from that ?
Down the centuries Society has not usually allowed women much freedom. Some have coped with that very well. How did they do it and what effect did that have on the men?
The Women from Crete
Rojas appears again. A British businessman is found murdered in the deep gorge in the beautiful Spanish town of Ronda. Very soon connections appear in Germany, England and the Greek island of Crete. Soon two stories of apparently impossible love emerge . Death has already occurred from them. How can more and more tragic deaths be avoided? The enemy is not what he appears but he is much more dangerous.
